Our New Arrival

This is Lucky, she was born today by emergency C Section. Sadly her twin sister didn't make it so we are crossing our fingers that this little sweetie sticks around. Connor came and helped out with the birth and was really good at rubbing her with his hands to get her warm and get her heart pumping properly. He was surprisingly unfazed by the fact that her mum had to be put down, I think I definitely have a little farmer in the making as he understood that so that Lucky would live her mum had to be put down as she would die anyway and it was better for it to happen quickly and stop her suffering. The boys are so excited to have a pet lamb and Connor even more so because he helped her be born.

I am totally amped, after being turned down for all the DT's I have been applying for and getting all down on myself because obviously my cards SUCK and I just should stop trying to get on DTs... I made it on as a guest DT member for Wags n Whiskers for August and September.

I know you are thinking "but she is already on DTs what the hell is she on.... but sadly my term at Wink Wink Ink is ending next month, at least I still get to use Melanie's fab images though so all is not lost. And of course the exciting Wags n Whisker news too. And of course I am still on Sammi's Mad 4 Markers DT too.

The card in this post uses a very cute Wags n Whiskers image called Water Babe which I am totally in love with. She makes me happy because the weather here is so yuk and she reminds that Summer is around the corner (somewhere).


I am gutted as I think I ruined my good winter boots, I came home from town to find that one of my sheep was stuck in the dam. I ran down to save her and realised half way down the very muddy hill what I had on my feet....grrrr. I came back to the house and put my gumboots on but I don't thing my good boots will ever be the same {sob}.


But I do have some more good news, I have a Tui nesting in one of my shubs. I can't wait till the chicks hatch, just gorgeous! For you non NZers this is a Tui.....

So I think I have my groove on again, yay. I really like this card too. I used the sketch from the Sugar Bowl for the layout and the image is a Gorjuss Girl. The papers and clouds are from "Playday", a digital scrapbooking kit from Scrap Ochard. The image is of course coloured with Copics which Sammi at Mad 4 Markers ships to New Zealand and around Australia, and she sells them for a very reasonable price too. I like it, I like it......

I like the way it just all comes together, I like the colours, I just really like this card. And it is the first time in quite some time I have. Maybe because today was sunny and warm I felt happier so I made a card that makes me happy.... who knows, but it's all good.

The image is an older Whimsie Doodles one that I found lurking in my digi file and decided to print is out, then I found these "on a whimsy" papers (I know, right. FATE!) by fancy pants. Then along came the lace and the ribbon and then last but but certainly not least the adorable daisy. All in all a cute sweet little card that I am going to send to someone special just to let her know that I haven't forgotten her.

I am also putting this in for the current Wild Orchid Crafts Challenge which is lovely lace.

Vintage Christmas Tilda

I am really not liking my cards at the moment. The last 4 or 5 I have done have just look blah but I guess it is just a phase I am going through because I have been looking back at my cards and feel that way about most of them so hopefully with the start of a new week tomorrow it will be the start of a new way of looking at my cards and I will start liking them again.

Wags n Whiskers Challenge - In Stitches

LOVE LOVE LOVE this image!!! So versatile and C*U*T*E. It is a Wags and Whiskers image available in digi and I have used him on this card for the Wags n Whiskers Challenge "In Stitches", I have used fake stitches around the edges of my papers made with a reamer and white gel pen.

I went for a walk around my garden today as it has been so wet and grotty I hadn't been around for a while an di am so happy to see my spring bulbs starting to develop flowers, spring is getting closer which makes me H A P P Y

A Bit of a Hidden Pearl

I got a bit carried away with the embellishments on this card I think, it has all got a bit much for the old eyes to take in leaves me with a feeling aof horrendous vertigo.
It's ok though otherwise it would be in the bin, not on my blog.lol
The image I have used is Pearl from Wink Wink Ink. I have used the sketch from this weeks challenge at Sketch Saturday for the layout and I am entering this card in the Paper Take Weekly challenge which is cute and the Digital Tuesday "Birthday" challenge.
Now off to enjoy a quiet Friday night with my hubby.

A Mini Album Full of Smiles.

I found this acrylic album in the deep dark depths of my stash and as I had some alcohol inks I have been wanting to play with and the boys were asleep what better time? I also found some SU chipboard sheets that I thought would look cool inking up to match the ink colours. The alcohol inks were a little trial and error and I used quite a bit of blending soloution to fix up mistakes but I did get the hang of it eventually. I backed the pages with White cardstock then the patterned paper so that the backing pattern wouldn't affect the colours of the inks.

I still have to add some dates and journalling etc but couldn't wait to share.

Winter Wedding - Tilda in White - M4M Challenge

Here is my take on "Colouring White" for this fortnights Mad 4 Markers Challenge.

I have chosen to make Tilda's dress and hat white and I have gone for a creamy white using E0000 (Floral White) and E50 (Eggshell). I used the E0000 to highlight certain areas and E50 where there would be natural shadow on the dress, hat and socks. Also on this image I have made the area under her veil lighter by blending out with my E0000 where the veil falls over her hair and face. I have also used my clear spica on her veil to give it some shimmer.

I am putting this in for both Flutterby Wednesday's and Magnolia Down Under Challenges.

Help me get over 99..... please.

Isn't this image so cool!?! It is a Wags n Whiskers digi image and I thought it would be perfect for Connor's birthday card, so for once I am going to be totally organised with a family birthday card. Yay.
I have used some random papers from my stash and I found the refs whistle in the bottom of my sticker box and the image is coloured with copics. I watched a Suzanne Dean tutorial on hair colouring and thought I would give her technique a go on this image. Not sure I got the blending quite right and I found it weird not using the "same" colour group of copics ie E50, E25 and E31 instead of my usual E22,E25 and E29.

Now for my plea for help.... I am strating to get a little OCD about my follower bar.... I am always checking to see if I am off 99, I just find it really annoying that I can't get to 100. So please, does someone visit that love me enough to become a follower? PLEASE xoxoxox with cherries on top.

A Little Bit Christmasy

I have had major mojo block with this card! It has taken me 3 days and I am still not happy with it but I have decided that this just can't go on and it is time to move onto a new project.

I have used some Cosmo Cricket paper and a Karen's Doodles digi image.

I wanted to give you a heads up that Marina over at The Stamping Bazzar is having a DT call, she is incredibly talented and I am totally crossing all my fingers and toes that I make her DT.

Pretty Prima Layout

I love my Jodie so much..... and she gives me the perfect excuse to use pretty papers and embellishments in my scrapbooking. I scraplifted this page froma a recent Prima Marketing Ustream class. I have used different papers, flowers, layout etc but the idea and inspiration definitely came from HERE.

So this is to celebrate Jodies teeth which appeared 2 days apart, which is great coz now when she smiles there are two little white pearlies which match perfectly.
VERY CUTE.

Beauty All Grunged Up

I was in the mood to make a grungy, inky card today so here she is.... the image is Beauty from Wink Wink Ink, very cool image as it comes as a set you can choose to leave her as a horse or attach wings or a horn, or even both if you like. I need to add that this is a PRE COLOURED image, I am not this good at colouring. lol.

I have used the sketch from over at Friday Sketchers and I have also entered for the Sweet Stampin' Challenge "Things with Wings".

A Garden Full Of Colour

I just love these cosmo cricket early bird papers so much, I am slowly getting through my stash though so that is kind of sad.
I have used the sketch from this weeks challenge at Papertake Weekly Challenge as a layout for this card. I like all the layers on this sketch.

Also this week is an open challenge at Flutterby Challenges so I have added my card in their challenge too.

Mad 4 Markers ATC Challenge & Swap

Over at Mad 4 Markers the challenge for the fortnight is to create an ATC using copics in some way. We are also having a swap so it will be fun to see what you get in return. All you have to do is make an ATC and link it in the side bar on Mr Linky then pop it in the mail to Sammi. Easy Peasy.

I had a bit of a drama as I was going to post my ATC yesterday, I had been really goood and had it all prepared a week early even. Then I couldn't find it, grrrrrr. So I made another then when I went to put my tape away I found the original, don't ya hate that.

These are my first ATCs and they were lots of fun to make and as Tracey mentioned earlier in the challenge a great way to use up the little scraps we all hoard away.
