Scrapbox Christmas Challenge #3

This weeks challenge at Scrapbox is to do a layout about whether you have a traditional or modern Christmas celebration. We have a mix at our place so this was a little challenging for me to scrap to say the least... but I have got there now, though not entirely happy with the out come but it will do. This was back in 2007, Angus' first Christmas and Connor's first where he knew what was happening and also about the big guy in the red suit.

Scrapbox Christmas Challenge #2

I have made this Wreath for a challenge over at Scrapbox which runs over a month I think, I missed the first one but have decided that anything that distracts me from baby pains is a good thing. I used my Cricut to cut out the multitudes of leaves from a combination of Old Olive and Kiwi Kiss SU Cardstock, the brads are SU Crystal Brads and the holly berries are punched from Ridinghood Red CS, sprinkled with glitter then coated with Crystal Effects. The sentiment is also cut using my Cricut then coated with Crystal Effects. The leaves have also been sprayed with glimmer mist iridescent gold to add a bit more interest to the clusters.

I have used Cosmo Cricket "Early Bird" papers (LOVE>LOVE>LOVE THESE) and the cardstock is SU.

A High Hopes Christmas Card

I have finally completed a card and am updating, things are getting totally sporadic around here... including the housework! PTI Tree Trimming Trio 4 Friday Sketchers Challenge

I have used this weeks sketch from over at the Friday Sketcher"s Blog for this card using the Papertrey Ink "Tree Trimming Trio" set. I have teamed the image with my fav Christmas paper for this year (so far) which is SU Ski Slope, I am loving the red, blue and green combo, all of which are our current in colour tones of Baja Breeze, Ridinghood Red and Kiwi Kiss, I have also used some of the in colour buttons as decorations on the tree.

Another week down on the pregnancy countdown.... 6 weeks and 4 days to go until my due date, but I will then go over by 1 -2 weeks and have a baby that weighs 9lb 8oz or more because that's just how I roll. I have legs, arms, feet and hands prodding and poking me and I have told my darling hubby that THIS IS IT!!!! NO MORE!!!! So he will be having to make an appointment with Dr Snip when this is over.... or else. But really, I am excited and looking forward to what I know will be my last little baby, I have had fun shopping for baby stuff and getting things ready for the big arrival. I think I am even more excited because Angus and Connor are, they are constantly asking to feel the baby and talking and singing to it. I am getting some great stuff on home video, including Connor asking Andrew when the baby in his tummy was coming. hahahaha, HILARIOUS! That has certainly prompted the Ab King pro to be be assembled in the spare room.

Copic Creations - Black... ummm yeah with some blurring

This fortnights challenge over at COPIC CREATIONS is Black.... so what better than a witch with her cauldron? ntill her hat bled everywhere that is. I have no idea what happened to make the black (grey actually) bleed but I had already mounted the image on the card when I noticed it, then I tried to fix it which made the problem worse so now I have just given up and I am hoping that it doesn't stand out TOO much.
The image is one of the PINK CAT digi images that were released last month, the papers are Basic Grey, no particular line, just a mix of what matched for Halloween. And notice the spider in the corner? Well that is all me.lol.

SORRY!!!!

Hi loyal readers, lol.... yeah I am flattering myself but you never know SOMEONE might actually be hanging out for me to update. haha.
So just to let you know that I am hoping to update tonight, I have been a bit layed up as I seem to have pulled a ligament in my stomach due the gargantuan unborn child I am hauling around, my gestation is 32 weeks and the baby's calculated size is 36.5 weeks.... I am hoping it's little growth spurt slows down before the due date or else I am in trouble. Anyway hope to put a card on tonight, so see you then.

Sweet Stems with an Autumn Twist

This is my card for this weeks "Stampin' for the Weekend" challenge blog, his weeks challenge is to use orange, brown and green. I have used a mix of papers, SU and K&Co, the ribbon was white and I coloured it with my brown Copic, the image is SU Sweet Stems and the sentiment is Hero Arts.

Only 9 weeks to go till my due date, I am at the stage now that it can't come quickly enough. Sleeping at night is getting harder due to being SO uncomfortable and moving around in general is getting to be a hassle. It is all worth it though and soon we will have a new baby to love and adore.

Friday Sketch Challenge

I have been very productive this week... yay for me, as I have 2 market days coming up at Labor Weekend so I have been getting loads of challenges done for inspiration. I have also done a Guest DT card but can't post that yet or give any details until later in the month.
This card is for the Friday Sketchers Challenge, a cute sketch this week. I have used a High Hopes Christmas image and DCWV papers. The image is coloured with Copics in PTI cardstock. The flowers are Making Memories.

PTW sketch challenge + technique Tuesday

This is my card for this weeks Papertake Weekly Challenge. I have used a Whiff of Joy image "Charlotte Riding Reindeer" which is one of my fav Christmas images. I have teamed her with Ski Slope DP and Kiwi Kiss ribbon and she is coloured with Copics on PTI cardstock (Yes Viv I am hoarding.lol). There is alot of dimension in this card which brings us to.....

TECHNIQUE TUESDAY
for this week, adding dimension.

There are four different levels to this card in order they are.... the base, the co-ordinating blue strip, the image and the sentiment.
I have 2 different thicknesses of foam squares in my stash as shown in the photo (please ignore the gross wrinkly fingers, a hand model I am definitely NOT)and I can achieve loads of layer heights by backing them together. You can see in the picture below a couple of the different layers. They look very cool in real life and add a great 3d effect to your cards.

Sketch Saturday - PTI Tree Trimming Trio

I am loving this Ski Slope DP, really great colours and not your traditional Christmas colours but totally cool! You may recall from a couple of posts ago I said I had bought some PTI Cardstock, well I also purchased this Tree Trimming Trio stamp set, quite retro and very cool, great for layering.
I have used this weeks sketch from Sketch Saturday.

Copic Creations - Mo's digi pencil Punkin

I have made this card to use the mixed medium image I created for one of the My Creative Classroom Copic Class assignments for this week. I have used a Mo's Digi Pencil image and coloured with Copis and coloured pencils. It also fits this weeks Copic Creations challenge which is "Pumpkins".
The papers are Wild Saffron by K&Co, the flower is stash stock and the bling is Prima.

Short post today.... I am pretty sad as our pet lamb Pencil drowned in the dam today and I guess it's hormones but I am totally devastated and just can't stop getting teary.

Spoonfull of Sugar challenge

I am in love with my copics all over again!!!! I have always loved them don't get me wrong, but it is rather like that "Do you like Pina Colada's?" song..... I never realised their true potential until now and I'll let you in on a little secret that probably everyone except me already knew.... The paper you use makes a huge difference to how well the colours blend and also how the image looks. I decided to bite the bullet and order some paper from Papertrey Ink and pay the huge shipping costs and omg am I glad I did! I will never use Whisper White CS for colouring with copics again, I will still use it for card bases and other mediums just NOT copics!

Anyway after my little paper rant, onto the card. The image is Whiff of Joy and I have made this card for the "Spoonfull of Sugar" challenge which is basically Christmas Cards. The coloured CS is SU, the patterned paper and the bling is Basic Grey and the sentiment is SU.

Anyone for Anya Challenge Sketch #2 + Technique Tuesday

I have been doing a class on colouring with Copics at My Creative Classroom, it is week 3 this week of a 4 week course and I have to say I have learned lots of new techniques and have been really enjoying our assignments. This deer image from The Greeting Farm was practice blending. I have used copics to "dye" the crystals as well. The papers are SU Ski Slope, the ribbon is American Crafts, the cardstock is SU, the crystals are Prima, the punches and sentiment are Stampin' Up and the flowers are making memories.
I have used this weeks sketch from "Anyone For Anya" challenge blog.
Here is a pic of the crystals, sort of before and after. I found that even with being coloured they still sparkle and shine. i am going to try and do a technique Tuesday every week and just sort of showcase something quick and easy that looks fab.
