Father's Day Card from the Little Monkeys

Here's hubbys fathers day card for tomorrow. I have used monkey toes from Meljens and manipulated the image in PSE7 to make 3 different sized ones. Looking at it now that it is all finished I probably should have fliped the monkey on the right. The colouring on the image is a bit crappy as I was in LOADS of pain (still am) as I have done something to my back and I can hardly move.
I am going to enter this in the Meljens Challenge for this week which is "Stripes".

Wags n Whiskers Challenge - Glitter

This weeks challenge over at the Wags n Whiskers blog is "glitter" so add some shimmer and bling to your cards and join in the fun.
I have used Angelica fairy which is one of the recent releases from the Wags n Whiskers Fairy line. I have glittered up her wings and the star but her wings haven't shown up very well in the photo unfortunately.

Are you totally sick of pink yet????

If you are sick of it then you are at totally the wrong blog.lol. I LOVE PINK.... I m sure if you are a regular you have probably noticed.

I saw these Simply Betty stamps around a bit and thought they were quirky & cute and then I was on Carisa's blog today (note to self go back and leave a comment) and saw a card she had made and she mentioned a DT call over at the new Simply Betty Challenge blog. So me being the nosey girl I am went over to have a look and see what the haps was, only 6 hours till the call closes I thought to myself, with my boys home and Jodie recovering from swine flu why not just make myself a little more stressed so I am throwing my hat in the ring. This total emo babe is Betty herself, so I have followed the call rules and made it cute, quirky and (kinda) funny.

Guess What!!!!!!!!

I have made the DT at Digistamps4joy..... how exciting is that! Well for me anyway and those of you who are regular visitors to my blog because you get to see the fabby digi stamps they sell which I will be creating with, yay. You can go and check it out the blog post and also feast your eyes on the giagantic pic of me at the top of the "New DT" post GAK!!!! Poor veiwers.lol.

So onto the first challenge, it is a photo challenge, which is this one here....

My First (Crafting) Love

I love scrapbooking, sometimes I get so caught up in making cards and doing DT stuff that I forget how rewarded and happy I feel when I complete a layout. That and my boys just love looking at the albums and running their hands over all the lumpy bumpy stuff and discussing the photos. I think that their love of handling and looking at the albums fuels my addiction to all things sticky outy on layouts. My gluegun gets a real workout when I do a layout as everything has to be well and truly STUCK due to the amount of handling the layouts get, beneath their plastic sleeve of course.

What's New Pussycat.....

I hope all the effort I put into thinking up my cringeworthy blogpost titles does not go to waste and they are appreciated by someone out there in blogland.

I saw this full facial thing done on the Lil Lolita challenge blog by their DT member Amy and wanted to give it a go. The sketch is this weeks challenge over at Lil Lolilta Challenge blog and I am also going to put this card in Stamptacular Sunday Challenge - In Pink and Cupcake Craft - Let's Get Digital.

I have used a Lil Lolita Stamp, papers are from "Calliope" Digi kit by Tracie Stroud and the sentiment was made in word using "champagne & limosines" font. The flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts and the pearls are prima.

Fairy Fairy Distressed! (Get It?)

I have used an image from "Jelly Park" which I found on Etsy, I bought a couple of different images as I really like them, they remind me of the books I used to read when I was a kid and the illustrations by Quentin Blake. As you may have guessed I was a huge Roald Dahl fan, I used to get them from the library in town and read them over and over. I remember when my Mum bought me my very own copy of "George's Marvolous Medicine" from a closing down sale, I was so excited as it wasn't even my birthday or Christmas.

Anyway onto the card..... a few challenges with this one, I actually planned it this time.

Why Glossy Accents Does My Head IN!

Ok I actually really love the stuff but it takes SOOOOOO long to dry! I can never wait long enough and ALWAYS put a fingerprint in the glossed part of my image, even if it is just a tiny part that is glossed you can garrantee there will be a print in it. I like to think of it as putting a little extra me in my cards.lol.

Clever me, I have actually killed 2 challenges with 1 card again....

Puggles Says Hi!

These pre coloured images from Wink Wink Ink are awesome for making cute cards in a flash. This is puggles and he is available from Melanies Wink Wink Ink Shop and Melanie is also having a DT call at the moment, which means that my term as a DT Member for Wink Wink Ink is very nearly over. I can highly recommend being on the Wink Wink Ink DT as Melanie is fabulous to work for and her images are really cute. I was lucky enough to be on the team with a bunch of fabulous and talented women. You can read more about the DT Call over on the Wink Wink Ink blog. We are also having a challenge over on the WWI CADC group to use metal on your card so come on over and play along.

AAARGH! This was supposed to be fast!

So annoying!!!!! This card was supposed to be a simple and sweet get it over with but fufull my need to do something crafty today card. Then i decided to try an make a ruffled ribbon on my sewing machine WARNING WARnING MISERY IN THE MAKING. I am ok at curtains and seams but holy that is where it ends, this simple ribbon ruffle took me 3 freaking quarters of an hour.... I kid you not!
Jodie has been struck down with dare I say it, swine flu. An 8 month old with H1N1 is NOT pretty, so after what seems like a million sleepless nights and long long days she is finally improving and I didn't feel the need to check on her every half hour last night to make sure she was breathing. So needless to say I am feeling a little refreshed today and then I thought "Oh while she is asleep I will make a quick card" well anyway here is the final product. Hope you appreciate the effort I went to and leave me a little love.

Thinking of Summer.

I think this image is just so summery sweet that I couldn't resist using these "Summer Blush" papers by Tracie Stroud as they seemed to scream SUMMER!
The image is a FREEBIE DIGI from Digistamps4Joy you can find it on the Digistamps4Joy Website. You have to register to get it but that is very hassle free and there are loads of other cute images too, I will be visiting again when my car bill is paid off that's for sure. For todays card I have used the totally gorgeous Nichola, isn't she a stunner! I decided to make an easle card with loads of lovely embellies and bling, just because I think she feels like a bling loving type of fairy.


Here is a bit of a close up so you can see the shimmer and shine I have added to here wings using stickles and glossy accents. There is also lots of shimmer on the card itself which I sprayed with some glimmer mist.

Knock Knock..... is that you Goldilocks? Hang on, you never knock.

Being the totally obsessed with fairy stories child that I was, when I saw this fairytale inspired line from Kraftin Kimmies I fell in love. This one is Goldilocks (uh ha I kid you not.lol) and I had SO much fun colouring that total riot of ringlets. As you can see on the bottom, Angus decided to give me some help with the colouring with a red pen while I was out feeding James the lamb.

I have followed the sketch at Papertake Weekly Challenge and also the challenge over at Kraftin Kimmie's which is buttons, bling and scallops.

The Dt call over at Southern Girls Challenges has gone awesome. There is so much talent out there, and the applicants for our DT have been no exception. There is still another 7 days left of the call then comes the difficult process of narrowing down the applicants.
